On August 3, 1966, High Point Enterprise reported that "Disc jockey Faye Jackson of WVCB, Shallotte, N.C., said 'I've decided to take the Beatles off.' "

On the next day (August 4, 1966), the Asheville Citizen wrote, "Other Carolinas stations which announced a ban on the Beatle recordings included: WKDK, Newberry, S.C., WLSC, Loris, S.C., WPET, Greensboro, N.C., WBBB, Burlington, N.C., WVCB, Charlotte [sic], N.C., WRKB, Kannapolis, N.C., WTYN, Tryon, N.C."
