Alabama's Anniston Star newspaper on August 4, 1966 reported that "Radio Station WEZQ of Winfield, Ala.; WMSL of Decatur, Ala.; WCRL of Oneonta, Ala., and WAGC of Centre, Ala., said they are joining the Birmingham disc jockey's anti-Beatle campaign. Bob Mayben of WCRL said his teen-aged listeners could hardly believe the statement by Lennon."
