The Associated Press (as printed in the Mexia Daily News on August 5, 1966) reported, "KZEE in Weatherford, Tex., which plays 30 per cent gospel music, said it was banning the Beatles 'eternally.' Bob Day, a disc jockey, conducted a poll of its listeners and found the majority wanted the records banned unless an apology is made."
