KNRO-FM banned The Beatles!
Evidence of the Ban:
The Associated Press (as printed in the Asbury Park Press on August 4, 1966) reported, "KNRO-FM at Conroe, Tex., took them off the air but said they would reconsider 'if a public apology is made by a spokesman of the group.' "
Twelve days later, the AP (via The Victoria Advocate on August 16, 1966) updated the story: "Manager Bob Brown of KNRO-FM in Conroe said he also felt Lennon's apology was not sincere 'and we're continuing our ban permanently.' Brown said the station had received letters from over the United States, 90 per cent of them in favor of the ban."
