A United Press International report (as printed in the The Daily Herald of Provo on August 7, 1966) said, "A central Utah radio station which began banning Beatle records said Saturday it received 154 telephone calls within 45 minutes with only 6 callers disagreeing with the ban. Richard Jacques, program director for KSVC, Richfield, said 148 calls favored the ban. The station began the ban early Saturday. The station serves a listening audience of about 35,000. Most of the calls came from Richfield, but Jacques said some long distance calls were received."
