WFLI banned The Beatles!

Evidence of the Ban:

The United Press International (as printed in the Johnson City Press-Chronicle in Tennessee on August 9, 1966) reported, "John Eagle, manager of radio station WFLI, said his station was airing an editorial and asking its listeners to voice their opinions on whether or not the station would continue to play the group's records. Eagle said that a ban would be in effect until a majority opinion is heard from."

According to the Associated Press (as printed in The Spartanburg Herald on August 17, 1966), "WFLI of Chattanooga, Tenn., which banned the Beatles, received one overenthusiastic letter of support which 'threatened to blow us up if we played them,' reported station manager John Eagle."
