WBNO banned The Beatles!

Evidence of the Ban:

According to a United Press International story (as printed in San Mateo Times and Daily News Leader in San Mateo, CA, on August 5, 1966), "Stations WCMI in Ashland, Ky., WKOA in Hopkinsville, Ky., WONE in Dayton, Ohio, and WBNO in Bryan, Ohio, all hopped on the 'Beatle ban wagon' today."

The UPI story as printed in The Daily Times in New Philadelphia, OH, on August 6, 1966, added, "WBNO, Bryan, banned all Beatle records and songs composed by the group from the air and from record hops sponsored by the station, permanently. 'No more exposure for the Beatles, ever,' said General Manager Luke Zhaman."

Notes:

In 1966, WBNO started an hour-long Saturday afternoon series called "Teen Time Topics," with panel discussions by area high school students. Topics included "Is the behavior of today's teenagers more lax than that of their parents at the same age?", "Should the voting age be lowered to 18?", "Do you condone college sit-ins and revolts against authority?", and "What kind of discipline should be exercised by school authorities?"

In spring 1966, WBNO played "classical and semi-classical music" from 6:10 PM until sign-off at 7:15 or so, under the show name "The Dinner Hour."
