WKCU banned and burned The Beatles!

Evidence of the Ban:

Mississippi's Clarion-Ledger on August 4, 1966, reported: "Radio Station W-K-C-U announces that there will be no Beatle music on the station.... Manager Terry Robbins said the station is planning a bonfire Saturday, August 13, to burn Beatle records, pictures, books, etc., and hundreds of teenagers have been bringing Beatle material to the station for the burning."

Two days later (August 6, 1966), the Laurel Leader-Call added, "Mississippi stations participating in the Beatle ban included WKCU, Corinth and WBAL [sic], Meridian. Jerry Robbins, manager of WKCU, announced a bonfire for Saturday, Aug. 13, and invited owners of Beatles records, pictures, books, etc., to add fuel to the flames."
