The Associated Press (as printed in the Tyler Morning Telegraph on August 16, 1966) reported, "Royce Luman of KDET in Center said his disc jockeys helped burn thousands of Beatle records, magazine articles and souvenirs recently. 'Our ban will remain. Anybody who puts his foot in his mouth is going to apologize,' Luman said, 'but we believe his feeling are the same.' "
