Evidence of the Ban:
The Robesonian in Lumberton, NC, reported on August 4, 1966 that "Bill Kirby of WBCU, Union, S.C., said his station is announcing on station breaks it 'is banning the Beatles.' "
The trade magazine Broadcasting reported on August 8, 1966, "Among other stations that have pulled off Beatles' records are WAIM Anderson, WHCQ Spartanburg, WORG Orangeburg and WBCU Union, all South Carolina; WCBC [sic] Charlotte and WYNA Raleigh, both North Carolina."
